ALKING TO OLD FRIENDS gave us courage to take steps to find a church. How to go about that was the dilemma.

"I'm going to take a look in the Yellow Pages," I said, dragging down our East Valley directory. "I don't have a clue where to start looking, though. There are more LDS churches in here than anything else. I know this sounds weird, but there's a church here named Central. Doesn't that mean `middle'? Remember when I read from the middle of the Bible this morning and said that's where we are, right in the middle-not Mormon, but not anything else either? It's listed under Christian. Maybe that would be safe. Should we try it?"

"Guess it won't hurt to try." Jim came to look over my shoulder. "We've got to be careful. It has to center on Jesus, on the Bible, and nothing else. How are we going to know?"

"We asked God to direct us. So I think He will."
